International Montessori Academies
Noorunissa Montessori Academy is part of the International Montessori Academies, offering a strong bilingual academic program for ages 5 through 12. We are a Montessori inspired independent school following the BC curriculum.
International Montessori Academies have been nurturing children in the Cowichan Valley since September 2016 when our school's director, Ms. Inayat Bergum, first opened the Montessori school at THE HUB. Since opening, our school has welcomed several internationally trained Montessori educators who bring their language, culture, and experience to the children in their care.

We are so fortunate to be able to have regular access to the gymnasium, stage, music room, and additional classroom space within the HUB's main building as well as our rooms in the Annex.
We serve families from South Nanaimo to South Cowichan Valley, including Ladysmith, Lake Cowichan, Duncan, Mill Bay, Cobble Hill, and Shawnigan Lake.

What Does Our Logo Symbolize?
The logo represents LOVE, HARMONY & BEAUTY
The HEART:
Children are born with the natural tendency to LOVE. LOVE is the platform from which the children can learn and be nurtured the most effectively.
The WINGS:
The wings represent "RISING." It is knowledge that propels us into understanding and thus makes us RISE above differences.
Our view at International Montessori is when one is lifted into understanding, one gains insight and prospective, thus, gains the ability to embrace and celebrate difference (such as colour, background and ethnicity).
When there is understanding, HARMONY can be reached.
